The iconic spokesperson of Zero Waste lifestyle is Bea Johnson – and her family. Since 2008, the Johnsons are dedicated to living a zero waste lifestyle; they generate only a quart size jar of waste per year!
Although it may seem as a hard work or almost mission impossible, Bea describes her family´s new lifestyle as enormously fulfilling:
Since adopting the Zero Waste lifestyle in 2008, my life and that of my family have changed for the better. We not only feel happier, but we also lead more meaningful lives based on experiences instead of stuff.
5 R´s of Zero Waste Lifestyle
Bea writes a blog and published a book called Zero Waste Home. She succeeded to launch a global movement and continues to inspire a growing community to live simply and take a stance against needless waste. Her approach inspires not only by the way how she reuses or recycles her things, but also by the fact that she suggest to just avoid the waste (consumption) which is unnecessary.
Here are Bea´s 5R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot.
